During the conference, participants examined the historical lessons of the devastating Ashgabat earthquake. The participating specialists provided detailed information on modern engineering solutions aimed at improving seismic monitoring systems, conducting seismic microzonation of territories, and ensuring the seismic resistance of buildings and transport infrastructure facilities based on the results of seismic microzonation.

Among the speakers was Yo. Myradov, Acting Head of the Department of Highway Construction at the Faculty of Road Construction, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Senior Lecturer, who delivered a presentation entitled “Interaction Between Higher Education Institutions and Scientific Research Institutes.” P. Bashimov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geodesy, presented a report entitled “Modern Geodetic Methods for Determining Movements of the Earth's Crust”.

Strengthening the interconnectedness of science, education, and industry is one of the essential conditions for ensuring seismic safety. Integrating research findings obtained by scientific research institutes into the educational process, involving students in scientific research and practical industrial training, and applying modern engineering solutions in design and construction activities constitute the principal areas of this cooperation. Such collaboration helps future specialists combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills, enhances the effectiveness of scientific research, and contributes to ensuring construction quality and safety.
