Representatives of Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) of Malaysia Attended the Agreement Signing Ceremony at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute

On June 11, 2026, within the framework of the International Scientific Conference dedicated to Science Day in Ashgabat, a delegation from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia, visited the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute. The delegation included Professor Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari, Vice-Chancellor of the university, alongside Deputy Vice-Chancellors Professor Ir. Dr. Izham bin Datuk Zainal Abidin and Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Mat Isa.

As part of the visit, a solemn ceremony was first held to sign the “Agreement on Student Exchange and Mobility Program between the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Malaysia)”.  This was followed by a similar signing ceremony for the “Agreement on Student Exchange and Mobility Program between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Malaysia)”.

The Agreement was prepared in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 18, 2024, between the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, and Universiti Tenaga Nasional, and defines the detailed terms and conditions of the student exchange and mobility program. This Agreement regulates the duration of the program, the number of participating students, financial terms, academic credits, and other relevant provisions, aiming to ensure mutually beneficial cooperation.

Furthermore, the parties reviewed a number of strategic issues aimed at increasing  bilateral academic cooperation to new heights. First and foremost, the sides discussed the promising prospects of launching Double Degree programs. The UNITEN representatives provided detailed information regarding the checklist of documents required for the implementation of this program and the sequence of their preparation. In this regard, the guests highlighted UNITEN’s international experience in this area, noting that such a system is currently being successfully implemented in collaboration with leading higher educational institutions in Indonesia.

The meeting participants expressed confidence that the regular format of such events and academic mobility programs will strengthen friendly ties and deepen scientific and educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed their profound gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag and to the Esteemed President, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, for creating such wonderful opportunities. They wished the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag and the Esteemed President, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sound health, longevity, and continued success in their state and international endeavors for the benefit of the country and its people.
